What is acetyl l-carnitine (ALCAR), and how does it differ to regular l-carnitine? ALCAR is the acetylated version of l-carnitine. The main difference is it passes through the blood brain barrier, which means it can help maintain brain health. Your body naturally produces carnitine, with 98% of it being stored in your muscles for the transfer of energy. Your liver and blood also store a small amount of it. Used as a dietary supplement, ALCAR can also assist the transportation of long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for energy use.
When you have 100% Acetyl-L-Carnitine by Switch Nutrition, you’ll:
- Help the transport of fatty acids
- Support energy requirements
- Assist healthy brain function
- Support stamina
- Help manage muscle soreness
- Have an unflavoured product
- Feel confident with a HPLC tested product
- Find no gluten or lactose
- Have a supplement that is easily added to your pre-workout
How to use this ALCAR? Easy! Simply have one to two grams of this supplement per day. When should you take it? Though you can have carnitine any time, you may have one serve pre workout and one serve post workout.
